Meet the Coach
Coach Itan Chavira
My name is Itan Chavira, and hockey has been my passion and profession for over 30 years. I am a Level 5 USA Hockey Certified Coach — the highest certification level in the sport — with extensive experience developing players of all ages and skill levels.
I was honored to represent Team USA Inline Hockey for six years, where I helped bring home four gold medals on the international stage. Beyond Team USA, I also competed at a high level with the Ontario Reign, a semi-professional hockey organization, further strengthening my knowledge of the game at an elite level.
Throughout my career, I’ve combined the discipline, strategy, and teamwork I learned as a player with my passion for teaching. My coaching philosophy focuses on building strong fundamentals, sportsmanship, and confidence, while also preparing athletes for higher levels of competition.
Over the years, I have coached hundreds of players through structured training programs, skills clinics, and team development sessions. I specialize in making the sport accessible to new players while also challenging advanced athletes to reach their full potential.
Whether on the rink or off, I believe hockey teaches life lessons — resilience, teamwork, and leadership — that stay with athletes long after the game ends. My goal is to bring those lessons to every student and help grow the game in our communities.
